Mission-Driven Company

Our Approach

In 2024, the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc became a mission-driven company in order to embed its commitments in a rigorous, transparent, and measurable framework for the long term.

This approach commits the company to pursuing the goals it has set for itself and to reporting annually on the actions taken and progress made.

The mission report outlines the progress made and the areas for improvement that have been identified.

Our Mission and Our Statutory Objectives

Our mission is the result of a collaborative effort carried out over 18 months with about 100 stakeholders:

“To make the mountains accessible to everyone and, together, to preserve this precious resource entrusted to us by the region.”

Serving as a true compass, it now guides our operational decisions and the way in which the Company intends to contribute to society.

Our mission is based on four commitments and twelve objectives, which are set forth in our bylaws:

  • The security and accessibility of our sites;

  • The preservation of natural heritage;

  • Dialogue with local stakeholders;

  • Employee Development and Engagement

Each objective is linked to specific indicators, which are monitored annually. The results are analyzed to verify that the mission is being carried out properly, identify areas requiring attention, and adjust priorities for subsequent years.

Our Governance

The mission’s governance is based on:

  • A task force consisting of 5 company employees and 5 external experts

  • An independent third-party organization

  • A network of volunteer ambassadors

 The task force analyzes the progress made as well as any deviations from the established objectives. It reports its findings annually. In addition, it makes recommendations to help the company move forward and anticipate future challenges. In this way, it helps guide the strategic decisions of the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc.

 The independent third-party organization assesses the consistency of the mission, the resources deployed to meet statutory commitments, and verifies the results achieved.

 The mission’s ambassadors serve as the link between strategic directions and their implementation on the ground. Spread across various sites and departments, these employee volunteers are allocated dedicated time to lead high-impact projects. They identify areas for improvement, propose, and spearhead concrete initiatives within the company to help drive its transformation.
