The skiing in this area is amazing in terms of the scenery, but the sites are not well linked. Especially if you want to visit the St Gervais and Megeve areas, I'd recommend hiring a car. The buses are erratic, often very full when they do arrive, and take ages.

We had a fantastic week exploring the varied ski areas around Chamonix, and we couldn't have asked for better conditions — the weather was truly exceptional throughout. Away from the slopes, Chamonix itself delivered brilliantly, with a wonderful selection of restaurants and bars to unwind in each evening. A real highlight was the trip up to the Aiguille du Midi, which was simply breathtaking.

Got to Chamonix sud with alpy transfers, really great service. Arriving there any doubt you may have I think you should have no problem asking for help. In my experience everyone was kind and helpful. Arriving at 10:30 ish and leaving at 18:30 the realistic and doable plan I would say that it would be to: get the train to montenvers, cable car to aiguille du midi and visit Chamonix at the end. I definitely want to come back to spend a few days and get the winter sports experience. My visit was late February.
The areas and excursion sites of the Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley, Les Houches - Saint-Gervais and Megève, all on the same territory. A unique playground and experience
